Chiara Girotto,
blog contributor

Chiara has studied Pre- and Protohistory at Tübingen and Frankfurt University, as well as Palaeopathology at Durham University.

She starts her PhD on social change and organisation of the Urnfield Culture in April 2020. Her research interests evolve around the Urnfield Culture, the reconstruction of social structures, statistical applications, notably the use of non-linear dynamics. In osteology she focusses on cremations and fracture pattern analysis.

Her main goal is to combine both fields to see past societies from a more holistic viewpoint. She lives in Munich and works as a field archaeologist. In her free time she does living history, plays pen and paper, and spends a lot of time with her dog.
