Today we try Chicken Stew With Dark Beer

This recipe is modified from Vikingars Gästabud (The Viking Feast), and is for four servings.

Ingredients:

1 chicken, about 2 to 2-1/2 lbs.
3-4 carrots
3 yellow onions
1 turnip, about 1 lb.
1 & 1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash black pepper
Thyme
1 bottle (12 oz) dark beer

Method:

Chop the chicken into pieces.

Peel and cut the vegetables into bite size chunks.

Fry the chicken in butter for around 5 minutes on each side.

Season with salt and pepper and place in a pot. Add the vegetables, thyme and beer.

Let simmer for around 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

Why not try serving the dish with bread.
