An Altar for Litha
The smoldering letter of promise lies at the altar
A life is born anew through the words
The sunrise of Midsummer
Bore witness to her awakening
Too long has she borne the weight of her elders
Today her voice written in amber
Tomorrow will see her lighter
Now that the oath was given to Summer
Nevermore will I walk in my forebears’ shadows
Clotho spun, now Lachesis carefully weights and draws
Before Atropos comes with her resolute end
The thread will stretch and carry on
On Lithar’s Altar
All things are reborn
Nothing is lost
Life is there for the taking
